We'll settle any questions regarding school placement. Free SHS Secretariat

Any issues relating to the Computerized School Selection Placement System (CSSPS), according to Nana Afrah Sika Mensah, Deputy Coordinator of the Free SHS Secretariat, would be rectified.

The GNAT Hall in Accra was crowded with parents of kids who took the BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination) on Thursday.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) established the center to assist with both self-placement and replacement of students in open schools in all categories, with the exception of category "A" institutions.

According to the Ghana Education Service, a total of 165,601 applicants would have to undergo self-placement since their school preferences could not be matched.

Of of the 547,329 candidates who took the exam, 538,399 qualified for school placement, according to a statement from the GES. 372,780 of these individuals were automatically accepted into different schools.

When asked if the secretariat could resolve all problems with BECE graduates' placement, Nana Afrah Mensah responded, "Provided there is a space in the choice that they have made. If there is a space we will replace it for them. If there is no space we can't do anything for them. However, we will give them options so that out of those schools they will choose and we send to the resolution for them to resolve the issues."

She also disclosed that a number of dispute-resolution facilities have been established around the nation to assist in resolving problems involving kids who have not yet been assigned to senior high schools.
